Academic Year Structure
1.Schedule
a.
The certificate in computer applications programme consists of one full academic term which meets for 11 weeks.
b. Classes are conducted daily Monday through Friday from 8 am through 4 pm with appropriate student break times.
c. Three separate terms are offered annually beginning in September, January and May.
d. Upon approval from the programme director, students may enroll part-time and sit fewer class room hours per week. Completion of the full package for the award of the Certificate will be delayed accordingly.

3.Certificate Completion - Graduation
a.
In addition to attendance in a minimum of 80% of all scheduled classes, and the completion of all course work, students must register for and sit a comprehensive course examination administered in the final week of classes.
b. Only those students with complete academic records on file (Form Four Leaving Certificate and KCSE Results Slip) and having no outstanding liabilities to the College will be allowed to register and sit for the final examination.
c. KHBC faculty will supervise the final examination on location. Student exams will be forwarded for external marking and the results returned to KHBC for student collection.
d. Successful candidates (those passing the final examination) will be awarded the Certificate in Computer Applications, and are eligible for participation in the annual KHBC commencement ceremonies. Those who elect to participate in commencement exercises must pay the appropriate graduation fee at the Business Office, and register their intentions with the Academic Dean’s Office.
